Students’ Views on the Use of Technology in Geography Course

Use of technology in education enables students to be motivated and eager to participate in the lesson and is also a more effective tool in increasing motivation, encouraging students to the lesson and understanding the sub-ject. The aim of this study is to determine the views of secondary school students on the use of technology in geography lessons. Qualitative re-search method was used in this study. Semi-structured interviews were car-ried out with 32 students who took geography lessons in Kazakhstan dur-ing the 2018-2019 academic year. The semi-structured interview form de-veloped within the scope of this research was used as a data collection tool. Results of the study showed that secondary school students found tech-nology effective and funny to use in geography lessons. Projections, com-puters, tablets and smart phones were specified by the students as useful technological tools for teaching geography. Results of the study were dis-cussed with relevant literature and important implications for further re-search and practices were presented.

Investigation of Mobile Learning Readiness of Students According to Tablet Usage

In this study, it was aimed to determine the mobile learning readiness of university students and to examine the change according to tablet usage. The research was carried out in the fall semester of 2021–2022. The study, which was carried out with the participation of 360 university students, was carried out using the survey model. In the research, a 4-week distance education mobile learning training was given to university students. In the study, ‘Mobile Learning Readiness Scale’ was used to collect data. The scale used in the research was delivered and collected by university students online. The analysis of the data was made by using the SPSS programme, frequency analysis and t-test. The results were added to the research in the form of tables. As a result of the research, it was determined that university students have advanced mobile learning readiness. This study was conducted on the junction of Cultural Linguistics, Methodology and Pedagogy. As the issue of foreign language teaching by implying cognitive lingua-cultural aspects and competence based approach in the formation of intercultural communicative competence for the requirements of the globalizing world is relatively new, the topic can be characterized by a high level of availability. This paper provides an overview of the aspects to foreign language teaching in the formation of intercultural communicative competence and it investigates the following areas: the place and importance of gaining Intercultural communicative competence in foreign language teaching to overcome misbehavior, misunderstanding arising from the cultural and mentality diversity of the people from different lingua-cultural background for cross-cultural and intercultural interaction and communication; contribution to development of cultural based exercises and activities for the aim of intercultural communicative development according to European Union Competence reference.

Determination of Cyber Security Issues and Awareness Training for University Students

In this study, it is aimed to determine the cyber security problems and awareness training to university students. The research was carried out in the fall semester of 2021–2022. The study, which was carried out with the participation of 410 university education and psychology students, was carried out using the survey model. In the research, 4-week cyber security and cyberattack training was given online to university students. The cyber security measurement tool was developed and used by the researchers in order to collect data in the study. The data collection tool used in the research was delivered and collected by the online method. The analysis of the data was made using the SPSS programme, frequency analysis and t-test. The results were added to the research in the form of tables. As a result of the research, it was concluded that university cyber security and cyberattack training was designed and they were good in this field.
