This article examines the use of mobile applications in geography education and their impact on students' knowledge levels, motivation, and engagement. The study demonstrates that tools such as Google Earth, StudyGe, Quizizz, Kahoot, and Quizlet contribute not only to better learning outcomes but also to the development of practical skills, including spatial thinking and data analysis. Тип записи:Публикация, COMPETENCE-BASED APPROACH IN THE FORMATION OF INTERCULTURAL-COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING(2020-06-30); ; The main aim of learning a foreign language is the development of students foreign language communicative competence which will allow them to integrate as much as possible into the international professional community. This is an important condition for the social adaptation of students to modern life. In the context of the transition from a knowledge-based approach to teaching to a competency-based approach, a change in value orientations, the teacher needs new methods and technologies that allow the teacher to identify the student’s knowledge, update it, add what is missing, structure the training material, and teach not only to remember and reproduce, but put them into practice. Methods that organize learning through desire, stimulate students' learning and natural curiosity, motivate interest in the independent acquisition of knowledge. The article deals with the role and importance of applying a new "competence-based approach" in the formation and developing students’ intercultural and communicative competence in teaching foreign language. As it is known, due to the increased requirements for the level of training of future specialists in higher education institutions, the social demand for future specialists is quite high, both for themselves and for the individual. In addition, the formation of motivation for professional training of students in higher educational institutions was considered from the point of view of a stable orientation and motivation system. In the process of professional training, personal development is carried out. The formation of a professional personality begins from the moment of choosing a profession and continues throughout life. Many competitions have shown that the formation of professional training of students in teaching English in higher education institutions is not profitable without motives, needs and interests. Conducting a lesson in a playful way increases the motivation of students to knowledge. Classes organized through the game become easy, attractive and understandable for children. The ultimate goal of training is the quality of training, that is, strengthening methodological cognitive, educational, educational activities and practical focus on improving the content, types and methods of the lesson.
