The role of network culture and digital etiquette in student learning: a systematic review

Introduction. The rapid advancement of digital technologies is transforming the educational environment, presenting new challenges for communication among participants in the educational process. University online communities are becoming central platforms for academic interaction, where the culture of network communication and digital etiquette play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of learning and the professional development of students. Aim. This research aims to analyse the impact of network communication culture and digital etiquette on the effectiveness of students’ learning and professional development. Methodology and research methods. Materials were sourced from the Web of Science database, covering the period from 1975 to 2025. Based on the inclusion criteria, ﬁve key studies were selected and analysed, authored by researchers afﬁliated with universities in the USA, Taiwan, Sweden, Spain, and New Zealand. Results. The ﬁndings demonstrate an evolution from fundamental principles of network communication culture and digital etiquette to complex multimodal communication utilising artiﬁcial intelligence tools. This research reveals that effective online communication signiﬁ-cantly impacts educational outcomes through three key mechanisms: (1) structured frameworks for digital interaction, (2) balanced integration of traditional and innovative communication methods, and (3) the development of professional digital competencies. Scientiﬁc novelty. The research ﬁndings conﬁrm the importance of network communication culture and digital etiquette as key factors inﬂuencing the quality of the educational process within online communities and shaping the trajectory of students’ professional development in the digital era. Practical signiﬁcance. The research materials can be utilised in the development of regulatory documents governing digital interactions within academic online communities of higher education institutions.

Introduction . Online communication and digital etiquette have become essential components of higher education, requiring a thorough understanding of their evolution and current status. Aim. This research aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the development of scientific thought in network communication and digital etiquette within higher education, offering insights into the current state and future prospects of this field. Methodology and research methods . The study employs a bibliometric analysis of metadata from 9,039 articles indexed in the Web of Science from 1975 to 2024. Quantitative bibliometric methods are utilised to describe and visualise the evolution of the field over 49 years, examining publication growth dynamics, author productivity, and the social, intellectual, and conceptual structures. Results . The research findings indicate a consistent increase in publication activity, particularly notable since 2019, with contributions across various disciplines, including education, computer science, communication studies, sociology, psychology, and management. The research community exhibits a global character, with the USA, China, and the UK at the forefront of authorship. The study identifies twelve key research themes that dominate scientific discourse, ranging from contemporary educational approaches in the digital age to the co-creation of value in the digital environment. Scientific novelty . This comprehensive analysis provides a unique perspective on the evolution and current state of research in network communication culture and digital etiquette within higher education. By identifying key themes and trends, the study deepens our understanding of the development of this field and its interdisciplinary nature. Practical significance . The research provides valuable insights for educators, researchers, and policymakers in higher education regarding strategies for enhancing online communication practices and digital etiquette.

Formation of primary school children self esteem on the basis of criteria-based assessment

Introduction. The ongoing socio-economic transformations in society and science education actualise the modern educational policy in the field of personality formation of students who are capable of self-development and self-realisation. In these conditions, the primary school provides an integral system of knowledge, skills, and experience of independent activity and personal responsibility of students. The article deals with the problem of development of self-esteem in primary school children. Aim. The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between self-esteem and academic performance among primary school children. Methodology and research methods. The present research is based on systemic, personal, axiological, and activity methodological approaches. The article includes the study of the types of self-esteem of primary school children, and the level of aspirations. 107 school pupils participated in the research. At the ascertaining stage, diagnostics of the level of formation of self-esteem of younger schoolchildren was carried out. A number of pedagogical conditions to improve the cognitive, evaluative, and behavioural components were implemented at the training stage of the research. Results. The authors define the following concepts: self-assessment, types of self-assessment, self-assessment of primary school children, the level of claims, and criteria assessment. The programme of diagnostics of the level of formation of self-esteem of primary school children is presented. The indicators (cognitive, evaluative, and behavioural) and levels of formation of self-esteem of the primary school children (low, adequate, overestimated) are defined. The article presents the results of experimental work on the implementation of pedagogical conditions (including primary school children in the process of self-knowledge; gradual involvement of primary school children in self-assessment and reflexive activities; participation of primary school children in the formation of criteria-based assessment) to increase the level of self-esteem of primary school children. Scientific novelty. The pedagogical conditions, which contribute to the self-esteem of primary school children, are presented for the first time. Practical significance. The materials of the article are of practical value for teachers engaged in the development of lectures, seminars, assignments for independent work.
