The article is devoted to the content analysis of the concept of «uyat» in the Kazakh media space. The study covers both traditional media and social networks, demonstrating how «uyat» functions as an instrument of social control, especially in relation to women and youth. The analysis revealed the main thematic areas related to gender norms, youth protest and humor, religious attitudes, positive practices of using the term, etc. Particular attention is paid to the transformation of the meaning of «uyat» in the digital environment, where traditional and modern values clash. The use of online monitoring tools made it possible to obtain quantitative and qualitative data on the scope, tone, and dynamics of discussions. A comparison with international studies of the phenomenon of shame was also made, which allowed us to identify both universal features and unique characteristics of the Kazakhstani context. The article contributes to the understanding of the modern identity of Kazakhstan, demonstrating how moral concepts are adapted or rejected in the process of social modernization. The theoretical significance of the study lies in the analysis and comparison of the works of Kazakhstani and foreign researchers of such phenomena as «uyat», «стыд» and «shame», which allows us to integrate «uyat» research into the global scientific community and adapt foreign research to Kazakhstani realities. The practical significance of the study is determined by the quantitative and qualitative dataobtained on the basis of content analysis, which identifies the contexts and tonality of mentions, the number of expected coverages in social networks and media, the content, etc.

The growing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into professional practice, public administration, and everyday decision-making raises important questions about its legal regulation and social implications. This study examines the social dimensions of AI regulation in Kazakhstan, focusing on how support for government oversight relates to privacy concerns, perceptions of citizens’ rights, legal awareness, trust in AI, and practical experience with these technologies. Its significance lies in examining regulation through public attitudes, extending discussion beyond legal and institutional frameworks to an understudied national context. The study draws on a sociological survey conducted in Kazakh and Russian among residents of Kazakhstan’s megacities. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and chi-square tests were used to examine relationships between regulatory preferences, attitudes toward AI, practical experience, and selected sociodemographic characteristics. The findings show that support for government regulation is associated with concerns about privacy and the protection of citizens’ rights. Respondents who perceived greater risks to individual rights were more likely to favor government oversight, whereas those with greater practical experience of AI preferred less government intervention. Trust in AI did not preclude support for regulation: respondents expressing greater trust also recognized the need for legal oversight. Thus, trust in technology and support for its regulation can coexist. The study concludes that public perceptions of AI regulation reflect an interplay of perceived risks, trust, legal awareness, and practical experience rather than a simple division between technological acceptance and rejection. It provides empirical evidence from Kazakhstan for sociological debates on AI governance and demonstrates the relevance of public attitudes to regulatory discussions. The findings also highlight the need for further research into how citizens interpret AI, assess its implications for their rights, and define the appropriate scope of government oversight.

The influence of family structure on children's development is a topical issue in the context of the growing number of single-parent families around the world. This study aims to investigate the behavioural and emotional characteristics of children raised in the absence of one parent. The purpose of the study is to conduct a systematic analysis of the impact of single-parent families on children's behaviour and development, including the study of their emotional, social and educational characteristics, and the identification of key factors of successful adaptation. The scientific significance of the work is that it offers an in-depth understanding of the influence of social, economic and cultural factors on the behavior and development of children from single-parent families. The methodology includes a systematic literature review and semi-structured interviews with parents, observations of their children in their natural environment, which allows for a comprehensive assessment of the problem. The results of the study indicate that children growing up in single-parent families may face certain adaptive features reflected in emotional responsiveness and social behavior. Some parents report children's caution in interpersonal communication and changes in academic motivation, which may be related to processes of restructuring family roles and conditions. However, research evidence suggests that children successfully develop adaptive strategies in a supportive social environment that includes educational participation, extended family support, and access to assistance programs. These observations confirm the importance of context and resources in child development and highlight the contribution of a sociological approach to understanding the diversity of family forms and life trajectories. The practical significance of the work consists in the development of recommendations for parents, teachers and state bodies to create effective strategies to support children from single-parent families, which helps to improve their social and educational adaptation.
