    LINGUISTIC REPRESENTATION OF RITUAL CEREMONIALS IN THE KAZAKH LANGUAGE
    The article describes ritual rituals as one of the most important components of the spiritual life and culture of an ethnic group. They are considered as a phenomenon that transfers the norms, values and practices of the linguocultural collective from generation to generation. Accordingly, the purpose of the research is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the second-meaning scriptonyms, which are stored in the genetic memory of a person as structural-unconscious knowledge and are formed on the basis of ritual rituals. To achieve the purpose of the study, conclusions about the secondary meaning, representation of linguistic data related to ritual rituals are analyzed, linguocultural codes are identified and analyzed. The definition of the methods of semantic transition of secondary significant scriptonyms, linguocultural codes formed on the basis of ritual rituals within the framework of the anthropospecific paradigm is recognized as a method of determining the ethnic identity and peculiarities of the linguistic consciousness of the Kazakh people. The article uses etymological analysis, conceptual and lingucultural interpretation methods to reveal the meaning of language usages that have a secondary meaning.As a result of the research work, it is determined that among the language units that make up the action code, taboo words are often the catalyst for scriptonyms. In particular, the modern linguistic representation of scriptonyms, which have acquired a secondary meaning, is supported by examples from the pages of works and fiction about Kazakh customs and traditions. The scriptonyms analyzed in the research work and the linguocultural and conceptual concepts assigned to them can be used as a means of facilitating intercultural participation, in explaining the meaning and etymology of native words of the Kazakh language in a foreign language audience.

    Landscape Foundations of Hydronym Formation in Turkic Languages
    (2026-04-15)

    The article comprehensively examines the landscape foundations underlying the formation of hydronymic names in Turkic languages (Kazakh and Bashkir languages). It is argued that the physical and geographical characteristics of the territories historically inhabited by Turkic peoples (relief, climatic conditions, hydrological systems, and ecological features) have directly influenced the semantic structure and motivational mechanisms of water body names. In this regard, the lexical-semantic nature, morphological models, and naming principles of hydronyms such as rivers, lakes, springs, seas, and water sources are analyzed. The study identifies the function of ancient Turkic geographical terms and spatial concepts preserved within hydronyms and explores their historical-comparative and etymological foundations. The correlation between common hydronymic models across Turkic languages and regional variability is determined, revealing similarities and differences shaped by linguistic and extralinguistic factors. Furthermore, the paper analyzes how landscape dominants (flow characteristics, color, depth, taste, seasonal variation, and surrounding relief) function as motivational features in the formation of hydronyms. It substantiates that traditional worldview, economic and cultural practices, mythological consciousness, and sacral perceptions of Turkic peoples are reflected in water names. Thus, hydronyms are characterized not merely as geographical identifiers but as onomastic units encoding historical and cultural information. The article also defines the place of the hydronymic system within the broader onomastic space, highlighting its ethnocultural content and its role in preserving historical memory. The relationship between water names and landscape is examined from cognitive and semiotic perspectives. The findings contribute theoretically and methodologically to research in Turkic onomastics, historical lexicology, and ethnolinguistics.

    Verbal and Nonverbal Components in the Structure of the Targeted Dastarkhan: a Linguistic Perspective
    (2026-04-15) ;
    Б. С. Жумагулова
    Contemporary humanities increasingly turn to nonverbal forms of communication as independent and meaningful sources of information about the culture, mentality, and social structures of ethnic groups. This study attempts a comprehensive conceptualization of Kazakh gastics – a relatively unexplored but promising field within nonverbal semiotics that focuses both food-related rituals and its communicative, symbolic, and cultural functions. The aim of the research is to reveal the semiotic nature of the dastarkhan as a cultural space through which archetypal images, ethnocultural values, and mental frameworks of the Kazakh people are transmitted. Particular attention is paid to targeted dastarkhans (such as as , toi , merekelik dastarkhan , etc.) as structures of cultural memory and mechanisms of cultural representation. The scientific and practical significance of the work lies in expanding the boundaries of research on nonverbal communication and actualizing gastronomic culture as an object of linguocultural analysis. For the first time, an attempt is made to systematize the conceptual framework of Kazakh gastics and to interpret it as a sign system. The methodology of the study is based on semiotic and cultural approaches with elements of linguistic and stylistic analysis. The main empirical material includes works of Kazakh literature (M. Auezov, O. Sarsenbayev, T. Asemkulov, and others), in which food rituals and their symbolic meanings are reflected. The main results include a structural and semantic description of the dastarkhan as a sign system, an interpretation of the symbolism of national dishes, and an analysis of the gastronomic space as a component of ethnocultural identity. The findings confirm the hypothesis about the existence of a distinct nonverbal semiotics of food that functions stably within Kazakh culture. The scholarly value of the work lies in forming a theoretical foundation for further research into gastics within ethnolinguistics and semiotics. The practical significance is manifested in the potential application of the results in courses on linguoculturology, ethnology, intercultural communication, as well as in the field of preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage.
