    «Мұғалімнің кәсіби мәртебесіне қатынасын өлшеу» шкаласын қазақ тіліне бейімдеу
    (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, 2023-06-19)
    This article presents a description of the process of adapting the toolkit to the Kazakh language, dedicated to measuring attitudes towards the professional status of a teacher in a sample of teachers working in secondary schools in the city of Astana.The process of adapting the toolkit included the following steps: 1) scale translation; 2) application of the scale on the sample; 3) the use of confirmatory factor analysis and interpretation of the obtained values.Translation of the scale from the original into the Kazakhwas done by thirteen doctoral students and researchers studying in Turkey and have fluent academic Turkish at the C1/B2 level. To translate the scale into Kazakh, a traditional scale adaptation approach was chosen. The scale, translated into Kazakh, was carried out for a sample (n=614) of the study.Confirmatory factor analysis was used to confirm the factorial structure of the scale translated into Kazakh and to check the compatibility of the model with the collected data. The values of conformity and factor loads obtained from the confirmatory factor analysis were studied using the AMOS 24 program. A chi-square test was studied. However, since a chi-square test is affected by sample size, it is necessary to decide whether the model data are consistent. Therefore, the analysis uses the ratio χ2/sd rather than the value itself. Confirmatory factor analysis took into account measures such as root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA), comparative fit index (CFI), Tucker-Lewis index (TLI), and good fit index (GFI). The fit values of the model as a result of the confirmatory factoranalysis are as follows; χ2/sd = 4,36; RMSEA = 0,062; CFI = 0,90; TLI = 0,89 GFI = 0,90. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, it was found that the measuring tool retained its structure from the original form and is a valid and reliable scale consisting of 25 elements with three factors, adapted to the Kazakh. In conclusion, recommendations were given on the use of a scale adapted to the Kazakh language for conducting research on the attitude of teachers and future teachers to the professional status of the teaching profession.Key words: teacher status; measuring the status of the teaching profession; adaptation of the scale to the Kazakh.

    The Place and Role of Open Digital Education Resources in General Education
    (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, 2026-09-20) ;
    Open educational resources (OER) have become a critical driver of democratizing access to knowledge in contemporary education systems. They provide learners regardless of geographical location, socio-economic background or institutional affiliation with the opportunity to engage in self-directed learning and professional development. However, the creation of high-quality OER demands methodological literacy, appropriate technological solutions and collaboration between multiple professional actors.This article explores conceptual foundations, development trends and technological requirements associated with building OER for general education. Based on the analysis of international practices, public initiatives and UN recommendations, the study identifies key global trends shaping the OER landscape: mass online learning, MOOC expansion, open licensing, collaborative content production, and the application of emerging intelligent technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analytics.A seven-stage development algorithm for OER was systematized, including needs analysis, audience profiling, content design, resource formalization, verification and testing, dissemination, and continuous updating. The research also provides a role-based model demonstrating the involvement of instructors, instructional designers, multimedia developers and content authors at different stages of OER creation. The study emphasizes that ensuring accessibility, inclusivity and interoperability requires adherence to internationally recognized standards, including SCORM, IMS Global, IEEE LTSC, Creative Commons and others.The findings highlight that well-designed OER not only expand educational access but also improve instructional quality, enhance learner autonomy and stimulate innovation in teaching practices. The developed framework may serve as a methodological basis for designing new courses and educational manuals, as well as for training authors and developers working with digital educational ecosystems. Many emerging markets and middle-income countries use international scholarship programs as a long-established approach to human capital development. However, many graduates of international scholarship programs put great efforts to succeed in their home country and face many challenges when navigating the labour market. In fact, socio-economic factors including lack of jobs, saturated fields caused by an overly competitive domestic labour market, inflated salary expectations make it challenging for the international scholarship graduates to land a job after graduation. This paper explores the employment experiences of Kazakhstani government scholarship programs’ graduates majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics and sheds light on the challenges the graduates face when navigating the domestic labour market. An analysis based on 45 interviews shows that international scholarship graduates enjoy a positional advantage in the labor market and many of them have built a successful career. Despite this, their employment and career prospects are hampered by intertwining socio-economic and cultural factors, intergenerational clashes and scholarship program rules and regulations. Recommendations for minimizing the issues that graduates face when navigating the labor market are discussed.
