Тип записи:Публикация, Synergistic Structuring and Stabilization of Arid Agro-Soils via a Binary Metacid–Chitosan Interpolymer Complex(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2026-09-17) ;Moldir Kerimkulova; ;Kuanyshbek MUSABEKOV ;Gulmira IsenovaOrynkul YessimovaThis study investigates the effectiveness of using an interpolymer complex based on a synthetic polycation—Metacid (polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride) and a natural biopolymer—chitosan for anti-erosion soil structuring in the Maktaaral district of the Turkestan region. Using the conical plastometry method, the critical concentration of structure formation in the soil suspension was determined to be 67.5%; for subsequent studies, the solid phase content was taken to be 70%. Rheological studies have revealed a pronounced synergistic effect of the combined use of Metacid and chitosan. If the initial soil–water system is characterized by low elastic moduli (E1, E2 ~ 104 Pa), then the introduction of the “Metacid–chitosan” interpolymer complex leads to a sharp strengthening of the structure: The values of E1 and E2 increase to 3.26·106–7.49·106 Pa and 1.04·106–1.46·106 Pa, respectively. The mechanical stability limit increases by more than twofold, reaching 2000–2500 Pa. Analysis of the ζ-potential and electrical conductivity showed that the Metacid ensures a high positive charge of the complex (+21.76 … 28.69 mV), and chitosan acts as a spatial matrix. Experiments in a wind tunnel have confirmed that the “Metacid–chitosan” formulation, at an optimal concentration of 0.4%, provides effective protection of soil aggregates against wind erosion. The results obtained open up new prospects for using ecologically balanced interpolymer complexes to stabilize arable lands. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Synthesis and Heavy-Metal Sorption Studies of N,N-Dimethylacrylamide-Based Hydrogels(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2021-09-13) ;Ayatzhan Akhmetzhan ;Nurgeldi Abeu ;Sotirios Nik. Longinos ;A. K. TashenovIn this work, a hydrogel system was produced via radical polymerization of N,N-dimethylacrylamide and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid in the presence of N,N-methylene-bis-acrylamide as a crosslinker and ammonium persulfate as an initiator. Parameters that impact the conversion of copolymerization (such as initial concentration of monomers, temperature, initiator dose, and time) were studied. The swelling degree of the hydrogel was investigated with the addition of a crosslinker and initiator at different pH levels. A hydrogel with high conversion and high swelling degree was selected to investigate their ability for adsorption of Pb(II) ions from solutions. Adsorption behavior of Pb(II) ions in a hydrogel was examined as a function of reaction time and concentration of lead ions from a solution of Pb(II) ions.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 24Цитирования (OpenCitations) 19 - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, In Vitro Measurement of Genotoxicity of Antimicrobial Dextrin–Polyvinyl Alcohol–Iodine Complex(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2026-07-20) ;Tamara Bukeyeva; ;Ardak B. Jumagaziyeva ;Zhanar A. IskakbayevaSaltanat JumabayevaIodine-based antimicrobial materials are widely considered for biomedical applications due to their broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity; however, their potential genotoxicity requires systematic evaluation prior to clinical use. The aim of this study was to assess the genotoxic potential of a dextrin–polyvinyl alcohol–iodine (D/PVA/I-1) complex in accordance with OECD guidelines. Genotoxicity was evaluated in vitro using two complementary assays: the mammalian cell micronucleus test (OECD TG 487) in L5178Y TK+/− cells and the bacterial reverse mutation assay (Ames test, OECD TG 471) using Salmonella typhimurium strains TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537 and Escherichia coli WP2 uvrA, both in the presence and absence of metabolic activation (S9). In the micronucleus assay, no statistically significant increase in micronucleus frequency was observed at concentrations ranging from 0.039 to 0.625 mg/mL compared with the negative control. In the Ames test, no increase in revertant colony numbers was detected in any tested bacterial strain at concentrations up to 1250 μg/plate. At higher concentrations, pronounced cytotoxic and bactericidal effects were observed without evidence of mutagenic activity. Overall, the results demonstrate that the D/PVA/I-1 complex does not exhibit genotoxic or mutagenic potential under the tested in vitro conditions, indicating a favorable genetic safety profile and supporting further preclinical evaluation for potential biomedical applications. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Development of a Biodegradable Patch Based on Polysaccharides(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2025-10-30) ;Gulzeynep Begimova ;Aishat Kuldanova; Indira KurmanbayevaThis article presents an attempt to develop a transdermal patch based on biodegradable polysaccharides and to investigate its physicochemical properties. Natural polymers, including gellan gum, chitosan, and agar-agar, were chemically cross-linked with glutaraldehyde. Methylene blue was employed as a model drug compound. The resulting polymer-based hydrogel patches for topical application were fabricated in a spherical form, demonstrating both stability and elasticity. The study examined the properties of transdermal patches, their structural components, key characteristics, and evaluation methods essential for their formulation, development, and potential clinical performance. Scanning electron microscopy and UV spectrophotometry were used to characterize the patches. Additionally, the polymer composites were assessed through sol–gel analysis, swelling behavior, and in vitro drug release at pH 4.01 and 9.18.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 2
