Тип записи:Публикация, A Study of the Processes of Desertification at the Modern Delta of the Ili River with the Application of Remote Sensing Data(Polish Society of Ecological Engineering, 2021-02-10) ;Shakhislam Uzakbaevich Laiskhanov ;Maksat Nurbaiuly Poshanov ;Zhassulan Smanov; The water regime is the main factor contributing to the formation of landscapes in the river deltas of arid zones, any fluctuations in which lead to a change in the integral hydromorphic landscape. After the construction of the Kapshagai reservoir, the anthropogenic load on the ecosystem of the Ili River delta increased, as a result of which degradation processes, such as drying out and salinization, intensified. In the short term, this phenomenon may lead to the desertification of about 1 million ha of land in the modern river delta. In this regard, the main goal of this study is to look at the processes of desertification in the modern delta of the Ili River, using remote sensing data, which allows for quick identification of the long-term dynamics of degradation processes. For this, the authors used satellite data from Landsat 1-5 MSSS and Landsat 8OLI satellites for 1979 and 2019 and soil analysis data obtained through the ground (field) surveys.Using regression analysis of space and soil data, predictors for interpreting space images were identified and maps of landscape drying and soil salinization were compiled, reflecting the changes that have occurred over the past 40 years. As a result, it was found that in 2019, compared to 1979, the area of landscapes covered with vegetation had decreased by 12% and there was a transformation of hydromorphic landscapes into salt marshes and solonetzes.Over the past 40 years, the volume of non-saline soils has decreased by 41.3% and the volume of saline soils has increased to varying degrees. That is, at present, on the territory of the modern delta, a difficult land improvement situation has developed associated with the cessation of spring and summer floods due to the intensive water use at the Chinese and Kazakh sides.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 13Цитирования (OpenCitations) 10 - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Assessment of Plant Biodiversity and the Floristic Composition in the Black Irtysh River Valley (Kazakhstan)(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2024-10-16); ; The Black Irtysh River, a major tributary of the Ob River, traverses diverse ecological zones, influencing the distribution and composition of its floodplain vegetation. This study focused on the Black Irtysh River valley, a key segment of the Irtysh basin, to assess the current state of its plant communities. To compile expedition routes and a preliminary floristic list, a critical revision of more than 1000 herbarium sheets was carried out in the herbarium collections of Kazakhstan (Altai Botanical Garden and Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction). During the field season, a study of plant biodiversity was carried out along the entire coastline of the Black Irtysh. As a result, 217 species of higher vascular plants were identified (55% of those previously found in herbarium archives) from 139 genera and 43 families. The habitats of two Red Book species were discovered: Tulipa patens and Tulipa uniflora. It was found that the flora of the Black Irtysh is similar to the flora of the entire Zaisan depression, and families Poaceae, Asteraceae, Amaranthaceae, Caryophyllaceae, Rosaceae, and Fabaceae are predominant. Geobotanical surveys revealed that the species composition of plant communities is poor and similar among survey points. Only the western part of the river delta is characterized by high rates of projective cover and reserves of forage plants. The main factors of anthropogenic influence are fires, livestock grazing, and deforestation.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 3Цитирования (OpenCitations) 2 - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Evaluating the Status of Humulus Lupulus Populations in Kazakhstan: Implications for Conservation, Sustainability and Forest Ecosystem Management(2025-01-01) ;Aigul Yedilova ;Zarina Arkenzhanovna Inelova ;Marina Zhamanbayeva ;Lashyn N. KiyekbayevaG. К. YerubayevaEnvironmental protection plays a key role in maintaining biodiversity and conserving ecosystems, including plant populations with high ecological potential.Humulus lupulus (H.lupulus), commonly known as hops, belongs to the Cannabaceae family and is a plant known for its rich phytochemical composition and wide range of bioactive properties. This study provides an ecological analysis and geobotanical assessment of H. lupulus populations in the southeastern part of Kazakhstan.Fieldwork conducted in July 2023 covered five regions: Almaty, Talgar, Enbekshikazakh, Sarkan, and Alakol.Plant identification was confirmed using herbarium resources, and geobotanical analysis was conducted using route surveys and the Drude scale. The floristic composition and age-related characteristics of each population were determined. The results identified five distinct populations, each characterized by unique ecological and phytocenotic features.Dense clonal groups were found in Almaty, while floristic composition varied in the Enbekshikazakh and Sarkan regions.Soil analysis revealed a wide range of humus content (from low to high), slightly alkaline pH, and significant variation in the concentrations of phosphorus (26-162 mg/kg), potassium (270-430 mg/kg), and zinc (3.8-57.3mg/kg).The study emphasizes the remarkable adaptability of H. lupulus to diverse conditions and its susceptibility to anthropogenic pressure. This research underscores the significant impact of human activity on the environmental condition. To minimize the anthropogenic impact on the biosphere, it is essential to develop innovative approaches aimed at optimizing the use of natural resources, strengthening measures for biodiversity conservation, and restoring disrupted elements of ecological balance.Of particular importance in this context is the protection of H. lupulus populations as a critical component of ecosystem processes.A comprehensive approach to addressing these challenges will ensure long-term ecological sustainability and the preservation of natural heritage for future generations.
