Тип записи:Публикация, Cross-Linguistic Analysis of Latin-Derived Terms: Implications for Language Policy in Multilingual Societies(2024-12-29) ;N. Ilyassova; ; ;Dana PashanҮеshimov MukhtarThis study investigates the influence of Latin-origin words in the Kazakh and English languages, focusing on terms related to "experience" and "problems." The research analyzes the etymology, modern usage, and challenges arising from the incorporation of these terms into Kazakh, a non-Latin script language. The study highlights the role of Latin-derived vocabulary in modern scientific, technological, and academic discourse, and the unique linguistic and cultural challenges it presents in Kazakh. A comparative analysis of the Kazakh and English terms for "experience" and "problems" is provided, emphasizing the nuances of meaning, connotation, and cultural differences in their use. The study also discusses the tension between modernization and linguistic purity in Kazakh, considering the impact of globalization on native language development. The relevance of this research lies in the growing significance of Latin-derived terminology in non-Latin script languages, particularly in the context of globalization. The study explores how Latin-origin words are both shaped by and reshape the cultural and linguistic landscape in Kazakh and English, contributing to the ongoing discourse on language standardization, bilingual education, and cultural preservation in the face of globalization. The findings underscore the complex interplay of language, culture, and global interconnectedness, presenting implications for future linguistic policy and language planning, especially within multilingual societies. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Pragmalinguistic Features of Sacred Anthroponyms(2025-09-19) ;Gulzada Duisen ;Botagoz M. Suiyerkul ;Altynshash Kurmanali Chakyroglu ;Karimbek KurmanaliyevБарно Исакуловна БолтаеваThis study examines how contemporary Turkic society perceives sacred Muslim names, with particular emphasis on shifting attitudes toward their usage. The usage of sacred anthroponyms in these regions has evolved under the influence of various social, cultural, and historical factors. Muslim names have long been central to the religious and cultural identity of these societies. However, processes such as modernization, globalization, and urbanization have led to substantial changes in their usage. Despite these developments and the growing trend of secularization, the concept of 'sacred anthroponyms' remains an ongoing subject of debate. This paper deals with a significant aspect of Turkic anthroponyms: proper names derived from religious beliefs. A comprehensive methodological approach, integrating both linguistic and sociocultural analyses, facilitates a nuanced understanding of the role of Muslim names in preserving traditional cultural values. This paper aims to investigate the extent to which sacred anthroponyms are preserved across generations within the category of proper names. By analyzing the spiritual and pragmatic features of sacred anthroponyms, the study assesses the influence of socio-cultural transformations on their perception within modern Turkic societies. This study opens up avenues for comparative research in other linguistic or cultural groups undergoing similar socio-cultural transformations, particularly in post-Soviet or Muslim-majority contexts. The findings make a contribution to preserving cultural heritage and understanding naming practices in the context of globalization and provide a basis for future research on the intersection between name choices, self-perception, and social identity. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, PHILOSOPHICAL TRANSFORMATION OF TURKIC-KAZAKH POETRY IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION(2026-09-30) ;Nurbolat Manapbayev ;Yerkebulan Yerzhanov ;Şirin YILMAZThis article examines how philosophical meanings in Turkic-Kazakh poetry are preserved, revised and repositioned under the conditions of globalization. The term ‘Turkic-Kazakh’ is used as a genealogical and analytical designation for the relationship between selected early Turkic texts and later Kazakh poetic traditions; it does not imply an uninterrupted lineage or represent all Turkic literatures. The study applies qualitative comparative interpretation to a purposively selected corpus comprising the Orkhon-Yenisey inscriptions, the Korkyt tradition, Kutadgu Bilig, the hikmets of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, the zhyrau anthology, and works by Abai, Shakarim, Magzhan Zhumabayev, Olzhas Suleimenov and Tynyshtykbek Abdykakimuly. Lotman’s concept of the semiosphere provides the principal framework, while Heidegger’s account of poetic language and the approaches of Damrosch and Casanova to literary circulation serve as auxiliary perspectives. The analysis identifies three mechanisms of transformation: retention of recurrent philosophical categories, resemanticization of inherited images in response to new historical questions, and circulatory remediation through publication, translation and altered reading contexts. The findings indicate that continuity resides less in an unchanged national essence than in the changing functions assigned to memory, ethical agency, mortality, language and collective belonging. Globalization is therefore treated as a mediated context of interpretation and circulation rather than as the single cause of poetic change.
