Тип записи:Публикация, TEACHING KAZAKH EPICS IN UNIVERSITIES USING PROJECT-BASED METHODSThis article examines project-based teaching methods for Kazakh epics in higher education institutions. The purpose of the study is to identify the potential of project-based learning, develop the creative and research skills of future teachers, and foster their attitude toward national values. In other words, project-based learning guides students toward developing into independent explorers, analysts, and thinkers. A comparative analysis of the genre characteristics and common features of epic works is conducted, and their role in the national worldview is determined. Examples demonstrate that the hero's victory and his heroism in defending the Motherland, achieved through devotion to his beloved, are the primary motif expressing the ideals cherished by the people. Such stories have continued throughout the centuries in folklore and have remained in the people's memory as models. Considering that the relevance of this topic, studied in the fields of folklore and pedagogy, remains relevant today, using the project-based method, students explore the thematic and substantive features and historical foundations of the epic, comprehensively analyze its artistic and aesthetic value, and combine this with modern teaching technologies. This approach increases students' interest in the national spiritual heritage and develops their subject-specific and meta-subject competencies. Based on surveys and discussions conducted among university students, as well as analytical work during lectures and practical classes, their views and conclusions were systematized. In this regard, drawing on the methodological findings of renowned academics and educators, effective methods were used in lessons. The study results show that the project-based method in teaching Kazakh epic poetry increases student engagement, critical thinking skills, and a culture of teamwork. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Beyond narrative: a pedagogical, cultural, and psychological analysis of Saken Zhunusov’s Amanai and Zamanai for higher education(Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science (IAES), 2026-08-01); ; ;Amangaisha Bolsynbayeva ;G. ApeyevaThis study offers a comprehensive pedagogical analysis of Saken Zhunusov’s Amanai and Zamanai, demonstrating that the novella functions as a multilayered educational text suitable for literature, cultural studies, teacher education, and psychology-of-literature curricula in higher education. Using qualitative content analysis, the study identifies six interrelated thematic domains; moral education, cultural learning, developmental psychology, folklore pedagogy, narrative methodology, and emotional literacy, through which the novel teaches readers to interpret emotional, ethical, and cultural meanings embedded in the narrative. The data consisted of the full text of Saken Zhunusov’s Amanai and Zamanai, analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Findings reveal that the text models moral dilemmas, cultivates empathy, preserves Kazakh cultural knowledge, exposes structural inequalities, and illustrates childhood cognition and trauma through symbolic and myth-infused storytelling. The study connects these themes to established theoretical perspectives including Vygotsky’s symbolic mediation, Bruner’s narrative cognition, Rosenblatt’s reader–response theory, and cultural-historical views of oral tradition. By developing a detailed codebook and pedagogical framework, the research provides a replicable model for analyzing culturally embedded literature and demonstrates the relevance of Amanai and Zamanai to contemporary Kazakh social issues such as poverty, gendered burden, and generational trauma. The study concludes that the novel offers rich opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching and contributes significantly to the integration of Kazakh literature into modern higher education pedagogy.
