Тип записи:Публикация, Studying Phytochemical Features of Three Asteraceae Herbs Growing Wild in Kazakhstan(Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, 2021-01-01); ; ;Zhanna T. Abdrassulova ;Gulsana Z. ShaimerdenovaGulshat K. AtanbaevaThis study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical features of medicinal species of the Asteraceae family, their mineral elements, antioxidants, vitamins, and amino acids. The species studied included common yarrow (Achillea millefolium L.), common chicory (Cichorium intybus L.), and German chamomile (Chamomilla recutita (L.) Rauschert) collected in the Ile Alatau Mountain (Trans-Ili Alatau), Kazakhstan. The plants were harvested in July 2019-July 2020 during their flowering. The article’s scientific novelty lies in the conceptual research of phytochemical and morphological features of medicinal species with a maximum content of biologically active substances and high antioxidant activity, which can be a basis for creating innovative functional food products enriched with natural antioxidants. The article describes a new idea to display a very high concentration and diversity of vitamins (8 types), mineral elements (8 types), antioxidants, and amino acids (13 types) in the flowers of C. intybus L., Ch. recutita L., A. millefolium L.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 9Цитирования (OpenCitations) 6 - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия

Тип записи:Публикация, Phytochemical composition and antioxidant, antimicrobial, and cytotoxic activities of different solvent extracts of Ajania fastigiata (C. Winkl.) Poljakov(Instituto Internacional de Ecologia (Brazil), 2025-01-01) ;Assem Mamurova ;G. Kairanova ;G.A. Amеrtayeva ;Aigul YedilovaAsylkhan A. RakhymzhanThis study investigates the phytochemical composition and biological activities of six solvent extracts-hexane, ethyl acetate, and hydroethanolic fractions-from the roots and aerial parts of Ajania fastigiata (C. Winkl.) Poljakov (Asteraceae), collected in the mountain regions of southeastern Kazakhstan. Phytochemical analysis revealed that the aerial ethyl acetate extract contained the highest levels of bioactive metabolites, including phenolic compounds (34.22 ± 1.98 mg GAE/g), flavonoids (2.74%), organic acids (1.91%), and coumarins (0.54%). Antioxidant potential was evaluated using DPPH and ABTS radical-scavenging assays, with values of SC50 = 133.98 ± 12.91 µg/mL (DPPH) and 209.21 ± 3.70 mg Trolox/g (ABTS). The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), determined by the broth microdilution method, showed strong antimicrobial activity of the aerial ethyl acetate fraction, particularly against P.aeruginosa (MIC = 9 µg/mL) and E.faecalis (MIC = 39 µg/mL). Cytotoxicity was assessed by the MTT assay on NIH-3T3, K562, and Saos cell lines. The aerial ethyl acetate fraction exhibited selective cytotoxic effects, with IC50 values of 210 µg/mL for K562 and 360 µg/mL for Saos, while showing negligible activity toward normal fibroblasts (IC50 > 2500 µg/mL). These results confirm the pharmacological potential of A.fastigiata as a promising natural source of antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anticancer agents. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Structural and Sorption Characteristics of Nano-Structured Polysaccharide Biopolymers Derived from Plants of the Asteraceae Family(2026-07-17); ; ; ; This study investigates the structural and sorption characteristics of nanostructured polysaccharide biopolymers isolated from plants of the Asteraceae family (Dahlia tubers and Helianthus tuberosus) toward Pb2+ ions in model aqueous solutions. The biopolymers were obtained by acid extraction at pH 1.5-2.5 and 80-90 °C, followed by ethanol precipitation, with a yield of 10-14%.Surface morphology examined by scanning electron microscopy revealed a hierarchically organized nano- and micro structured matrix with particle agglomeration and developed interaggregate porosity. The presence of lamellar structures and a porous network promotes diffusion of metal ions to active functional centers. The interaction mechanism between the biopolymer matrix and Pb2+ was studied by FTIR spectroscopy. Shifts and intensity changes of absorption bands corresponding to carboxyl and hydroxyl groups confirmed a coordination-chelate complexation mechanism without destruction of the polysaccharide backbone.Sorption experiments were performed using model Pb2+ solutions prepared from analytical-grade lead (II) acetate. The residual Pb2+ concentration after contact with the biopolymer was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry at 283.3 nm using calibration. Additional control measurements were conducted by complexometric titration in acetate buffer medium (pH 5.5) with 0.01 M Trilon B.Up to 76-77% of Pb2+ was removed within the first 10 min, and sorption equilibrium was reached after 60 min. The maximum removal efficiency reached 87%. The Freundlich model best described the process, indicating heterogeneous surface structure and multilayer adsorption. These results demonstrate the potential of Asteraceae-derived polysaccharide biopolymers as environmentally safe sorbents for heavy metal removal from aqueous media.
