Organization of teaching practice of future primary school teachers in the context of dual training system

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to bare the peculiarities and challenges of the dual training (DT) of the future primary school teachers in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The above-mentioned problem is quite urgent, as the system of VET and DT is a rather new experience for Kazakhstani system of higher education. Thereby, the paper makes an effort to demonstrate the forms of organization of DT at teachers’ training university. Design/methodology/approach The instruments for gathering information (data) for this study were various primary school teachers’ training curricula adopted by Kazakh State Women’s Teacher Training University; in particular, curricula of teaching practice. Various types of teaching practice during the entire learning period are provided by the state educational standards of higher professional education. Therefore, the research utilized a retrospective analysis that allows identifying the nature and specifics of the primary school teachers’ training curricula. Findings The paper points out the necessity to strengthen practical orientation of future primary school teacher through the synthesis of academic and educational processes (in school). It also presents the differences between the organization of teaching practice based on traditional and dual approach. Originality/value The authors suggest project curriculum of continuous teaching practice during the entire learning process on the example of the specialty 5B010200 Pedagogy and methodology of primary education in the context of DT and some results of its implementation.

Improving the supervisory competence of future trainers-teachers with the help of innovative technologies

The purpose of this research; The aim of the study is to get the opinions of prospective teachers about increasing the supervisory competencies of teacher candidates with the help of innovative technologies. The study group of the research consists of 125 teacher candidates studying at universities in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Research data were collected through a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. As a result of the research; It has been revealed that the majority of teacher candidates have moderate supervisory competence. The pre-service teachers stated that the course content for increasing their supervisory competencies in the education they received was moderately sufficient. The vast majority of teacher candidates have a positive perspective on increasing their supervisory competencies with the help of technology. The pre-service teachers presented the ability to use technology in supervision, to gain learning skills with technology support, and to gain the ability to understand students' interests, abilities and expectations with technology support, as suggestions for increasing their supervisory competencies through technology. In addition, providing the ability to use technology in supervision with online education applications and organizing teacher training programs in accordance with the use of technology in supervision competencies are among the suggestions developed by pre-service teachers. Educating future primary schoolteachers to create a communication culture through educational technologies

The purpose of this research is to get the opinions of teacher candidates to train future primary schoolteachers to create a communication culture through educational technologies. This study was created with the qualitative research method. The study group of the research consists of 40 teacher candidates studying in the primary school teaching department at various universities in Kazakhstan. Research data were collected with a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. As a result of the research, while the majority of primary schoolteacher candidates found themselves sufficient in using technology, they found themselves moderately competent in using educational technologies. In addition, the vast majority of teacher candidates consider themselves inadequate in providing education through educational technologies. The majority of primary schoolteacher candidates participating in the research stated that educational technologies have a positive effect on creating a communication culture. Primary schoolteacher candidates stated that programmes related to educational technologies and creating a communication culture should be developed in universities. It is necessary to implement the suggestions of pre-service teachers on improving the communication culture and to organise the education given at universities in this direction.
