Fabaceae Lindl. Species in the Floristic composition of the Aktobe Floristic District(Taylor & Francis, 2022-12-08) ;С. А. Айпеисова ;Nurlygul Utarbayeva; ;Erzhan T. KazkeevAizhan BaubekovaThis paper aims to provide a fundamental analysis of the Fabaceae Lindl. family in the context of the Aktobe Floristic District (AFD) legume family presented in this region. According to the present findings, the most commonly seen genus of the family Fabaceae in the region is Astragalus, which includes three subgenera with a certain number of sections. Based on the species distribution model, the dominant group is macro-disjunctive species, with plants migrated at a distance of 500–1,000 km. The usability analysis showed that the majority of plants are used as fodder (60.5%), and medicinal plants account for 26.3%.
Localization of Some Medicinal Plants in the Ile Delta on the Southern Macrosurface of the Zhetysu Alatau (Kazakhstan)(2023-04-01); ; ;GULNARA T. SITPAYEVA ;A. MusratSvetlana YerekeyevaIn the article, the floral composition of the vicinity of the Ile River on the southern macrosurface of Zhetysu Alatau is determined and a brief description of the endemic species is given. Through the examination and evaluation of expedition data, along with comprehensive research and literature analysis, the study successfully identified species that have experienced a reduction in their distribution range within the study area. Furthermore, the study was able to establish a comprehensive overview of the ecological characteristics and life forms exhibited by the flora in the examined region. An analysis of the indicators of the introduction of some medicinal species (phenological control indicators and seed quality) was conducted in the collection plot of medicinal plants in the main botanical garden and a brief conclusion was drawn based on the information of the introduction.
Assessment of Plant Biodiversity and the Floristic Composition in the Black Irtysh River Valley (Kazakhstan)(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2024-10-16); ; The Black Irtysh River, a major tributary of the Ob River, traverses diverse ecological zones, influencing the distribution and composition of its floodplain vegetation. This study focused on the Black Irtysh River valley, a key segment of the Irtysh basin, to assess the current state of its plant communities. To compile expedition routes and a preliminary floristic list, a critical revision of more than 1000 herbarium sheets was carried out in the herbarium collections of Kazakhstan (Altai Botanical Garden and Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction). During the field season, a study of plant biodiversity was carried out along the entire coastline of the Black Irtysh. As a result, 217 species of higher vascular plants were identified (55% of those previously found in herbarium archives) from 139 genera and 43 families. The habitats of two Red Book species were discovered: Tulipa patens and Tulipa uniflora. It was found that the flora of the Black Irtysh is similar to the flora of the entire Zaisan depression, and families Poaceae, Asteraceae, Amaranthaceae, Caryophyllaceae, Rosaceae, and Fabaceae are predominant. Geobotanical surveys revealed that the species composition of plant communities is poor and similar among survey points. Only the western part of the river delta is characterized by high rates of projective cover and reserves of forage plants. The main factors of anthropogenic influence are fires, livestock grazing, and deforestation.
Е. Tulipa brachystemon Regel is a narrowly distributed endemic whose occurrence within the Zhetysu Alatau mountains remains insufficiently studied, while information on its phytocoenotic affinity and habitat structure is still fragmentary. Therefore, the study of plant communities with the participation of T. brachystemon and the assessment of its role within the vegetation cover of the northern macroslope of the Zhetysu Alatau mountains are of considerable relevance. The aim of this study was to summarize available data on plant communities with the participation of Tulipa brachystemon on the northern macroslope of the Zhetysu Alatau mountains, to identify the floristic features of these communities and to assess the phytocoenotic affinity of the species. The scientific significance of the study lies in the synthesis of all available information on the composition and diversity of plant communities containing Tulipa brachystemon. The study was based on field investigations conducted between 2015 and 2022, herbarium collections, ...
Regional Variation in Plant Community Composition and Soil Properties of Alcea nudiflora Habitats Along an Elevational Gradient in the Trans-Ili Alatau, Kazakhstan(PAGEPress (Italy), 2026-10-09) ;Akerke Abil; ;Серик Бакиров ;Zhansaya AbdukadirovaWild plant populations in mountain ecosystems often depend on specific combinations of soil, vegetation and microsite conditions. Alcea nudiflora (Lindl.) Boiss. is a poorly studied Malvaceae species in Central Asia, and its population structure across different soil and vegetation conditions in the Trans-Ili Alatau remains insufficiently documented. We assessed three natural populations of A. nudiflora along an elevational gradient in the Trans-Ili Alatau, Kazakhstan: P1 at 900 m a.s.l., P2 at 1438 m a.s.l. and P3 at 1620 m a.s.l. Floristic composition, vegetation structure, ontogenetic stages and soil physicochemical properties were analysed using field surveys, 10 × 10 m plots, soil descriptions, laboratory analyses and exploratory ordination. P1 occurred in relatively open meadow–shrub vegetation and showed the strongest coenotic expression of A. nudiflora, with 62 individuals recorded within the 100 m2 vegetation plot and a broad representation of major ontogenetic stages. In P2, A. nudiflora remained a regular component of shrub–meadow and forest-edge vegetation, whereas in P3, the species occurred sparsely and was restricted to meadow openings, forest-edge gaps, and local microsites. Surface soil properties varied among habitats. In the upper horizon, P1 had 3.67% humus, 95.2 mg kg−1 readily hydrolysable N, 36.0 mg kg−1 available P2O5, 610 mg kg−1 available K2O, pH 8.41 and 4.28% CO2; P2 had 3.72% humus, 39.2 mg kg−1 readily hydrolysable N, 44.8 mg kg−1 available P2O5, 450 mg kg−1 available K2O, pH 8.23 and 0.54% CO2. PCA explained 37.1%, 33.8% and 9.4% of variance on PC1–PC3, summarizing gradients of nutrients, texture, carbonates and alkalinity. The results indicate that population status is associated with surface soil conditions, vegetation structure and microsite availability rather than elevation alone.
