Тип записи:Публикация, Problems and Opportunities of Distance Learning in The Context of The Pandemic: Case of One University in Kazakhstan(2022-10-21); ; Zada KhibinaDistance education systems are being actively studied and developed in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan, and have already passed the path from the distance learning system to Intelligent flexible learning model based on Web technologies. The advantages of online learning are classroom and platform independence. The goal of various intelligent learning systems is to use knowledge about the field of study, the learner, and learning strategies to provide flexible, individualized study and training. Many Kazakhstani universities were engaged in distance learning as part of the implementation of the second higher education. Obtaining a second higher education in Kazakhstan refers to studying in higher education programs after completing studies at the first higher education in the form of a bachelor's or specialist's degree. By obtaining a second higher education, you can get a degree or qualification in another educational program. The purpose of this empirical research is to study the attitudes of students regarding distance learning and to identify problems in the fulfillment of distance learning in an emergency transition. The study uses a quantitative research method based on a one-dimensional data analysis using descriptive statistics. In order to assess the level of distance learning organization process, the institutional study was initiated at the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University and conducted by the Research Institute for Social and Gender Studies. Based on this study recommendations were developed to improve the educational, methodological, social and educational work of the university, including the use of library resources in the conditions of distance learning. The study was conducted during June - July 2020. The study involved 677 students from all faculties of the university, including bachelor and master degree students, doctoral students. The study was prompted by: the need to assess the quality and level of organization of distance learning at the university; the need to identify problems (issues) of educational and social adaptation of the first-year students; the need to establish the degree of satisfaction of students with the distance learning process. The survey also allows to determine: the most effective forms of distance learning; study the performance indicators of the services provided by the university; to study the indicators of adaptation of students, master degree and doctoral students (satisfaction with the results; deficit experienced by students); evaluate the effectiveness of the work of deans, teachers and advisors from among teachers from the point of view of students. This research identifies the problems in the transition from traditional to distance learning and difficulties that arise when students receive high-quality professional education. Recommendations are developed to optimize the work of university structures aimed at improving the efficiency of the institutes’ work and psychological services. Тип записи:Публикация, FUNDAMENTALS OF QUALITY ASSURANCE IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM(Kazakh National Pedagogical University, 2024-10-01); ; ; Gulzhan Abutalipovna SeidullayevaThis study explores the critical issue of quality assurance in higher education systems, both in Kazakhstan and globally, where universities operate in a «consumer market» with students selecting educational programs, institutions, and resources. Based on an analysis of international and domestic research, the study aims to identify the foundations of quality assurance in higher education. The authors highlight key aspects of higher education quality, including student quality, teaching characteristics, academic regulations, and administrative support. Educational quality is examined within the context of international standards as a matter of national importance, with education levels serving as a foundation for economic development of both state and society. The research analysis reveals that various approaches, methods, and criteria for quality management are employed in creating systems for ensuring and assessing the quality of higher education institutions in Kazakhstan and abroad. These include the evaluative method of university activity quality management (SWOT analysis), Total Quality Management (TQM) strategy, and an approach based on the requirements of international quality standards ISO 9000:2000. The study notes that Kazakhstan has adopted a management model based on the ISO 9000:2000 international quality standards. Тип записи:Публикация, Цифровая трансформация перехода с дистанционного в онлайн-обучение: анализ казахстанского и зарубежного опыта(2025-12-30); Регина Валерьевна ДжазарСтатья посвящена анализу перехода от традиционного дистанционного обучения к полноценному онлайн-обучению в системе высшего образования Казахстана в контексте глобальной цифровой трансформации. На основе обзора отечественных и зарубежных исследований, а также данных онлайн-опроса студентов 22 вузов (в основном алматинских) показано, как меняются ожидания обучающихся от формата обучения, роли преподавателя и содержания курсов. Особое внимание уделяется разграничению понятий «дистанционное обучение» и «онлайн-образование», описываются преимущества и ограничения синхронных и асинхронных форм, а также роль игровых и проектных методов в цифровой среде. Отдельный блок статьи посвящён развитию массовых открытых онлайн-курсов (МООК), в том числе опыту Казахского национального университета имени аль-Фараби и возможностям внедрения МООК на базе Каспийского общественного университета. На примере разработки мини-курса «Основы маркетинговых исследований» демонстрируются практические шаги по проектированию онлайн-курса: структура модулей, сочетание теоретических и практических заданий, организация самостоятельной работы и итоговой аттестации. Показано, что успешность цифровой трансформации вуза определяется не только технологическими решениями и выбором платформ, но и готовностью профессорско-преподавательского состава к изменениям, качеством управленческих решений и продуманной организацией учебного процесса. The article analyzes the transition from distance to online learning and the digital transformation of higher education, including the use of massive open online courses (MOOCs). The study summarizes foreign and Kazakhstani experience and reviews the evolution of distance learning in Kazakhstan (from correspondence studies to full online formats), emphasizing how the pandemic accelerated digitalization. An online survey of about 100 students from 22 universities (mainly in Almaty) was conducted to assess attitudes toward online education and preferred learning formats. The results show that most respondents perceive online learning as convenient, prefer video lectures combined with practice, and expect career support after completing online courses. The paper discusses the potential of MOOCs for universities (increasing enrollment, reputation and revenues) and presents a case of designing a mini-MOOC for teacher training, describing key stages, course structure, and tools. The authors conclude that developing high-quality online courses requires coordinated teamwork and systematic support from the university. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Application of practice-oriented methods by it faculty in higher educationThis qualitative study was conducted among teachers specializing in information technology from various higher educational institutions in Kazakhstan. The study aims to investigate the frequency of application of certain practice-oriented teaching methods in IT education, how often they are mentioned in syllabuses, and how much they coincide with real-world applications. The study also sheds light on how higher education institutions support teachers in applying practice-oriented methods and what obstacles teachers experience in applying these teaching methods. As part of the study, a survey was conducted among 102 participants representing various higher education institutions in 11 regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan to obtain the most extensive and diverse sample. During the survey, Likert scales were used, which allowed us to get more detailed and nuanced answers from the respondents. In addition, multiple-choice questions were included, further expanding the opportunities for participants to express their opinions. The SPSS-29 software toolkit was selected and successfully applied during the data analysis. The important results found in this study make a scientific contribution by expanding our knowledge about the most frequently used methods of practice-oriented learning, the barriers to the use of these methods, and the frequency with which these methods are mentioned in the syllabus. This study also provides valuable information for IT education researchers who aim to improve the quality and effectiveness of training of IT specialists in higher education.
