Тип записи:Публикация, Improving university students’ engagement in physical education through differentiated instruction and motivational strategies(2025-06-02) ;Nurzhan Temirbay; ; ;Nurlan BeknurmanovZhambyl BeknazarovThis study aims to enhance university students’ engagement in physical education (PE) by applying a set of differentiated instructional strategies and motivational interventions. Declining levels of student participation in PE present a significant challenge in higher education institutions, necessitating pedagogically sound solutions. A quasi-experimental study was conducted at M.Kh. Dulaty Taraz University with 473 undergraduate students from four faculties. The intervention comprised individualized grouping based on fitness levels, theoretical modules on health literacy, flexible class formats (including outdoor activities), and motivational events such as sports competitions. Engagement was measured using pre- and post-intervention questionnaires and statistically analyzed via t-tests and ANOVA. The intervention yielded statistically significant increases (p < 0.001) in student engagement across all measured dimensions, including participation frequency, intrinsic motivation, and satisfaction with PE. Differentiated, student-centered instructional models combined with motivational support significantly improve engagement in university PE settings. The study provides a scalable framework for educators and administrators to improve PE program effectiveness, support student well-being, and foster lifelong healthy behaviors through targeted pedagogical innovations.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 3Цитирования (OpenCitations) 1 - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, The Effects of Integrating Digital Tools into University Physical Education in Enhancing Student Engagement(2025-10-01) ;Nurzhan Temirbay; ; ;Zhambyl BeknazarovNurlan BeknurmanovThe integration of digital technologies into physical education has emerged as a promising approach to enhancing student engagement and promoting long-term physical activity habits. This study investigates the effectiveness of using fitness tracking applications in a university-level physical education setting. The primary objective was to assess whether incorporating autonomy-supportive digital tools could improve students' attitudes toward physical education and sustain their physical activity beyond the classroom. An experimental design was implemented involving two groups: an experimental group that engaged in self-monitored physical activity using mobile applications, and a control group that followed a traditional instructor-led program without digital integration. Data collection included pre- and post-intervention surveys assessing motivation and attitudes, as well as app-based step count logs. Results revealed that the experimental group showed significantly greater improvements in both motivational indices and weekly activity levels compared to the control group. Furthermore, 72% of students in the experimental group continued using the fitness applications during a four-week follow-up period, in contrast to only 39% in the control group. These findings highlight the critical role of self-determination theory in designing digital interventions that support autonomy and competence. The study contributes to the growing field of digital pedagogy by demonstrating the practical value of fitness apps in formal educational contexts. It suggests that strategically implemented digital tools not only improve immediate learning outcomes but also foster sustainable behavioral changes in physical activity. This research offers a scalable and low-cost model for enhancing physical education through personalization, real-time feedback, and autonomous goal-setting, thus bridging the gap between classroom instruction and lifelong fitness behavior. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, MODERN METHODS AND TECHNOLOGIES OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN UNIVERSITIES(2025-12-09) ;Nurzhan Temirbay ;A.T. KaldybaevaOne of the for improving physical education is the individualization of education, which takes into account the level of training, interests and health characteristics of students. The inclusion of modern technologies, flexible curricula and motivational strategies can significantly improve the effectiveness of classes and make them more attractive to young people. In this context, it becomes relevant to study the pedagogical conditions that contribute to the improvement of physical education of students at the university, with an emphasis on individualization and the use of innovative approaches. Physical education of university students is an important topic in pedagogy, psychology and medicine. Various aspects of this problem are considered in the works of domestic and foreign scientists studying the impact of physical activity on health, personal development and the educational process. The theoretical and methodological foundations of physical education were considered in detail in the works of such scientists as P. Lesgaft, L.I. Lubysheva, V.K. Balsevich, who investigated the role of physical activity in the harmonious development of personality and developed methodological foundations of physical education in educational institutions. - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия

Тип записи:Публикация, Physical education and student mental well-being in higher education: a socio-cultural review(Frontiers Media, 2026-09-21) ;Nurzhan Temirbay; ; ;Zhambyl BeknazarovZhomart PushkulovThis review examines the role of physical education as a pedagogically grounded means of supporting student mental well-being in higher education. In the context of increasing academic pressure, sedentary lifestyles, and the growing prevalence of mental health challenges among university students, physical education is reconsidered not merely as a fitness-oriented subject but as an integrative educational practice. The study synthesizes international research on pedagogical conditions, instructional approaches, and institutional strategies that connect physical activity with psychological resilience, motivation, emotional regulation, and social engagement. Particular attention is given to student-centered and inclusive models, the integration of digital technologies, interdisciplinary courses linking physical education with health and neuroscience, and mindfulness-based and stress-reduction practices. A comparative analysis of international best practices demonstrates that positive mental well-being outcomes are most evident when physical education is embedded within supportive university policies and holistic learning environments. The findings indicate that pedagogically informed physical education enhances not only students’ physical health but also their academic functioning, sense of belonging, and long-term engagement in healthy lifestyles. The review highlights the need for integrated higher education policies that position physical education as a strategic component of student mental well-being and sustainable university development.
