Тип записи:Публикация, Soil morphological and chemical characteristics in the habitats of the rare, endemic plant Spiraeanthus schrenkianus in Karatau Mountains, Kazakhstan(Instituto Internacional de Ecologia (Brazil), 2025-01-01) ;A Muratbayeva ;Akmaral Nurmahanova ;Канат Кулымбет ;A. T. MyltykbayevaAigul АkhmetovaBACKGROUND: The article presents the results of the study of ecological characteristics of soils of three populations on the territory of Karatau. The populations were located in different geographical points with differences in soil types, depth of horizons and content of chemical elements. The study evaluated the main soil parameters including humus content, pH, CO2, macro- and microelements, and salinity level. It was found that population-1 (mountain gray-brown soils) was characterized by the highest content of humus and mobile nitrogen, indicating better availability of nutrients to plants. population-2 (mountain southern serozems) has higher potassium content, which is favourable for plant growth. population-3 (mountain gray-brown soils) showed the lowest content of mobile phosphorus and copper compared to other populations. Analysis of heavy metal concentrations showed that zinc exceeded the maximum permissible concentration only in population-2. At the same time, soil salinization at all three sites remains at a low level and does not pose a threat to the ecosystem. These findings are ecologically significant as they reveal the critical role of soil fertility and contamination in supporting the distribution and survival of the rare endemic species Spiraeanthus schrenkianus. These results provide new information for assessing the fertility and sustainability of land resources.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 4Цитирования (OpenCitations) 1 - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Public health risks associated with antibiotic residues in poultry food products(Elsevier BV, 2025-03-16) ;Sylvester Chibueze Izah ;Akmaral Nurmahanova ;Matthew Chidozie Ogwu ;Zhexenbek ToktarbayAntibiotic residues in the poultry food products pose significant public health risks, contributing to the growing global challenge of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This paper focuses on the public health risks associated with antibiotic residues in poultry food products. The study found that the routine use of antibiotics in poultry farming for growth promotion and disease prevention has resulted in the accumulation of residues in food products, which can lead to adverse health effects in consumers. These include allergic reactions, toxicity, disruption of gut microbiota, and the promotion of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Long-term exposure to antibiotic residues, even at low levels, exacerbates these risks, impacting not only individual health but also broader public health systems. Regulatory frameworks, such as the establishment of maximum residue limits (MRLs) and stringent monitoring, are crucial for ensuring food safety. However, there is a pressing need for alternative strategies in poultry production that reduce reliance on antibiotics while maintaining animal health. Public education, antimicrobial stewardship, and sustainable farming practices are vital to mitigate the risks posed by antibiotic residues. The global effort to address AMR should involve coordinated actions among stakeholders, including policymakers, farmers, and healthcare providers, to protect both food safety and public health. Future research needs to prioritize the development of alternative therapeutics and innovative farming practices to minimize the presence of antibiotic residues in poultry products. • Use of antibiotics in poultry could boost growth and wellbeing but also pose public health risks. • Ongoing misuse is driving an increase in environmental and organismal antibiotic residues. • Antibiotic residues can accumulate through the food chain with known and unknown One Health effects. • Factors affecting residues include antibiotic type, dosage, withdrawal and cultural practices. • Cooking reduces antibiotic residues, but consumption of poultry products may cause allergic and microbiota effects.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 38Цитирования (OpenCitations) 14 - Некоторые метрики заблокированы вашиминастройками согласия
Тип записи:Публикация, Eucalyptus wood waste biochar: a green solution for fluoranthene contamination in wastewater(Taylor & Francis, 2025-04-03) ;Yu Shuang Ren ;Bekzat Tynybekov ;Akmaral Nurmahanova ;Talgat IbragimovUssen KurmanbayThis study investigates the removal of fluoranthene (Flu) from vehicle-wash wastewater (VWW) using biochar (EWB) derived from eucalyptus wood waste. Analytical techniques such as surface area analysis (SAA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were employed to characterize the EWB. Optimal conditions for Flu adsorption (98.80%) were determined as 40 ppm initial concentration, 60 minutes contact time, pH 5, 60°C, and 0.4 g adsorbent dosage. The adsorption process was evaluated using kinetic models and isotherms, showing that Flu adsorption onto EWB follows a pseudo-second order kinetic model. The Langmuir isotherm provided the best fit for the experimental data. Thermodynamic analysis revealed that the adsorption process is exothermic and spontaneous, as indicated by the values of entropy (ΔS°), Gibbs free energy (ΔG°), and enthalpy (ΔH°). A comparative analysis with commercial adsorbents demonstrated the high efficacy of EWB in removing Flu from industrial wastewater, achieving over 98% efficiency.Цитирования (OpenAlex) 3Цитирования (OpenCitations) 2
