    МӘДЕНИ МҰРА ЖӘНЕ ҰЛТТЫҚ ХОРЕОГРАФИЯ ӨНЕРІ
    (Istanbul University, 2022-08-18)
    Автор мәдени жады призмасы арқылы ұлт және ұлттық бірегейлік мәселелеріне деген заманауи көзқарасты қарастырып, жаһандану контексінде ұлттық бірегейлікті қалыптастырудағы мәдени мұраның, соның ішінде би өнерінің орнына талдау жасайды. Көшпелі өркениеттің бай рухани мұрасы өнердің барлық классикалық түрлерінің өркендеуіне негіз болды. Бүгінгі таңда да дәстүрлі этномәдени кодтар жаңа өзекті формаларға ие болуда және қарқын дамуда. Мақалада ұлттық би қозғалыстарының ерекшеліктері мен маңыздылығы қарастырылған. Бір қозғалыстарда халықтың көркемдік бейнелі ойы, көзқарасы мен дүниетанымы көрініс тапқан болса, кейбір қозғалыстар еңбек процесіндегі адамның қозғалысын көрсетіп, басқалары қазақ ою-өрнектерін сипаттайды. Кейбір қозғалыстар табиғат құбылыстарын, құстар мен жануарлардың қимылдары мен әдеттерін пластикалық түрде бейнелейді. Сонымен қатар би өнерінде қазақ халқы жарқын болашақ туралы армандарын бейнеледі. Қиын жағдайда өмір сүрсе де адамдар жақсылықтың жеңісіне сеніп, сол сенімді ән мен билер арқылы бейнеледі. Сондықтан ұлттық хореографиялық фольклорды халық мәдениеті тұрғысынан түсіну өте маңызды.

    НАЦИОНАЛЬНАЯ ИДЕНТИЧНОСТЬ И КУЛЬТУРНАЯ ПАМЯТЬ В РАССКАЗЕ БАХЫТЖАНА КАНАПЬЯНОВА «БАХЧИСАРАЙ»
    Статья посвящена анализу рассказа Бахытжана Канапьянова «Бахчисарай» с фокусом на проблему национальной идентичности и культурной памяти. В ходе исследования рассматриваются способы, которыми автор через образ и переживания героя передает тему утраты родины и сохранения культурной памяти в условиях изгнания. Образ старика Кемаля, переживающего ностальгию по Крыму, а также символика Бахчисарая становятся центральными элементами для понимания глубины связи с родной землей и с прошлым. В статье используется метод системного анализа, а также подход к исследованию через психоэмоциональную и культурную реконструкцию, которая помогает раскрыть механизмы сохранения национальной идентичности через переживания героев. Рассказ Канапьянова позволяет увидеть важность памяти и духовной связи с родной культурой, несмотря на внешние трудности и насильственное изгнание.

    Tongue twisters are among the most important features of oral cultural heritage and folk literature. These texts reproduce and reinforce social norms and values in an entertaining, memorable form. This study examines the literary functions, structural features, and thematic elements of tongue twisters in Turkish folk literature. It aims to reveal the reflections of common motifs, sound and rhythm elements, and geographical and cultural differences in these tongue twisters on the value system, worldview, and cultural memory of a society. This research adopted a systematic review, a qualitative research method. Within the scope of the analysis, relevant studies in Turkic and English published in Scopus, Web of Science, and TR Index databases between 2000 and 2025 were examined, and 27 studies were included in the research. The study revealed that tongue twisters, in the context of Turkic people, are folkloric products with multi-layered and deep functions, far beyond the generally accepted perception of language games. The findings of the reviewed studies strongly suggest that tongue twisters function as condensed cultural texts that reflect the cultural memory, worldviews, and value systems of the society to which they belong. In light of these findings, a systematic and comparative study of the motifs in tongue twisters with the motifs of other folkloric genres in the Turkic world may open new horizons on how cultural memory works. This study contributes to ethnic and cultural studies by demonstrating how tongue twisters function as carriers of cultural memory, social values, and ethnocultural identity among Turkic communities.

    Verbal and Nonverbal Components in the Structure of the Targeted Dastarkhan: a Linguistic Perspective
    (2026-04-15) ;
    Б. С. Жумагулова
    Contemporary humanities increasingly turn to nonverbal forms of communication as independent and meaningful sources of information about the culture, mentality, and social structures of ethnic groups. This study attempts a comprehensive conceptualization of Kazakh gastics – a relatively unexplored but promising field within nonverbal semiotics that focuses both food-related rituals and its communicative, symbolic, and cultural functions. The aim of the research is to reveal the semiotic nature of the dastarkhan as a cultural space through which archetypal images, ethnocultural values, and mental frameworks of the Kazakh people are transmitted. Particular attention is paid to targeted dastarkhans (such as as , toi , merekelik dastarkhan , etc.) as structures of cultural memory and mechanisms of cultural representation. The scientific and practical significance of the work lies in expanding the boundaries of research on nonverbal communication and actualizing gastronomic culture as an object of linguocultural analysis. For the first time, an attempt is made to systematize the conceptual framework of Kazakh gastics and to interpret it as a sign system. The methodology of the study is based on semiotic and cultural approaches with elements of linguistic and stylistic analysis. The main empirical material includes works of Kazakh literature (M. Auezov, O. Sarsenbayev, T. Asemkulov, and others), in which food rituals and their symbolic meanings are reflected. The main results include a structural and semantic description of the dastarkhan as a sign system, an interpretation of the symbolism of national dishes, and an analysis of the gastronomic space as a component of ethnocultural identity. The findings confirm the hypothesis about the existence of a distinct nonverbal semiotics of food that functions stably within Kazakh culture. The scholarly value of the work lies in forming a theoretical foundation for further research into gastics within ethnolinguistics and semiotics. The practical significance is manifested in the potential application of the results in courses on linguoculturology, ethnology, intercultural communication, as well as in the field of preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage.

    This study examines the transformation of cultural memory and traditional values in Post-Soviet Kazakhstan as a key component of national identity reconstruction. The main objective is to identify the mechanisms through which cultural memory preserves traditional values and reinterprets them within contemporary socio-cultural contexts. The research is based on a qualitative design and analyzes a corpus of materials from 1991 to 2024, including state programs, cultural texts, and epic heritage, notably the Rukhani Zhangyru program and the Koblandy Batyr epic. Data was examined using discourse analysis, thematic coding, and symbolic-interpretive methods. The findings demonstrate that cultural memory in Post-Soviet Kazakhstan functions not only as a mechanism for preserving historical experience but also as a dynamic system that adapts traditional values to modern social conditions. State discourse, the education system, and media are identified as key institutional mediators that reinterpret and transmit cultural values. In addition, epic heritage is recontextualized in contemporary cultural space, acquiring new symbolic and social functions. The study argues that the interaction between tradition and modernization leads to the emergence of a hybrid model of national identity. This model ensures continuity with the past while enabling adaptation to current societal demands. The findings contribute to a better understanding of cultural transformation processes in Post-Soviet societies and propose an integrative analytical framework for studying cultural memory and national identity.

    The article is devoted to the philosophical analysis of the dialectic of tradition and innovation in historical urban space. The core of the problem lies in the fact that urban environments are not only material infrastructures but also symbolic spaces where cultural memory and historical experience are accumulated. In the context of globalization, urban development transforms cultural codes, yet this does not imply their disappearance; instead, they are reinterpreted and adapted to new social conditions. The author’s position is based on understanding tradition and innovation as a dialectical unity: tradition ensures the continuity of cultural meanings, while innovation enables their reinterpretation in accordance with contemporary realities. The solution to the problem is proposed through the philosophical interpretation of urban space as a cultural text, analyzing its historical and symbolic meanings. Using the cultural space of Taraz city as an example, concepts of collective memory and “sites of memory” are examined, revealing mechanisms of cultural continuity. This approach contributes to understanding the humanitarian dimension of urban development and may serve as a theoretical foundation for cultural policies aimed at preserving historical heritage and integrating it into modern processes.

    Objective: This study examined the motif of “awakening” in Turkic poetry as a psychocultural process through which individual consciousness, historical memory, cultural identity, and collective self-understanding are symbolically reconfigured. Methods and Materials: A qualitative comparative literary design was used. Selected poetic and prose-literary texts from Ottoman-Turkish, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tatar, and Uzbek traditions were examined through close textual reading, thematic analysis, stylistic interpretation, and historical-comparative contextualization, with particular attention to the Jadid and related enlightenment movements. Findings: Across the selected traditions, awakening repeatedly emerged through contrasts such as sleep–wakefulness, darkness–light, ignorance–knowledge, silence–voice, and dependence–freedom. Although its local forms differed, the motif consistently linked personal transformation with collective renewal, language preservation, education, historical memory, and national identity. In early twentieth-century poetry, these symbolic oppositions frequently converted literary discourse into a vehicle for social reflection and cultural mobilization. Conclusion: The awakening motif functions as more than a recurrent literary image: it operates as a shared psychocultural framework for representing transformation of consciousness and identity across the Turkic world. Its durability reflects the continuing role of poetry in preserving cultural memory and articulating aspirations for intellectual, spiritual, and social renewal.

    Dance, ontology, and national identity in the metamodern cultural paradigm

    The contemporary cultural landscape reveals a growing crisis in postmodern interpretations of national culture, which tend to emphasize fragmentation, relativism, and the deconstruction of stable meanings. While such approaches have enriched critical cultural theory, they frequently neglect the corporeal, experiential, and affective dimensions through which national identity is sustained. Within this context, dance emerges not merely as an aesthetic or performative practice but as an ontological mode of cultural existence through which collective meanings are generated, transmitted, and renewed. Drawing on philosophical-ontological, cultural-anthropological, and hermeneutic perspectives, this article examines dance as a corporeal system of cultural memory and historical continuity that operates beyond purely textual or representational models. Using two Central Asian traditions—Uzbek Lazgi and Kazakh Kara Jorga—as illustrative cases, the analysis demonstrates that the metamodern cultural paradigm enables a reconfiguration of traditional dance by oscillating between preservation and innovation, sincerity and reflexivity, continuity and transformation. Rather than reducing traditional dance to folkloric representation, metamodernism reactivates it as a living practice that produces national meaning through bodily presence and performative repetition. By conceptualizing dance as a dynamic process of identity formation rather than a symbolic reflection of culture, the article contributes to dance ontology and cultural identity studies. Crucially, this reconceptualization carries significant implications for cultural sustainability, shifting heritage preservation from static documentation toward the support of living, corporeal practice.
